About the QR code generator
The TConverter QR Code Generator creates QR codes for links, plain text, Wi-Fi networks and contact cards, and lets you download them as PNG or SVG. QR codes are a quick way to move information from paper or a screen onto a phone: a menu link on a restaurant table, a Wi-Fi code at the office reception, a business card that saves your details straight to a contact list, or a product page link printed on packaging.
Each template builds the right content format for you. For links, an address typed without a scheme, such as tconverter.com, automatically gets https:// added, because many phone cameras would otherwise show it as plain text instead of an openable link. The Wi-Fi template produces the standard WIFI: format recognized by iPhone and Android camera apps, with WPA/WPA2, WEP or No password security and an option for hidden networks; special characters in the network name or password are escaped so they are not misread. The Contact card template generates a vCard 3.0 entry with first name, last name, phone, email, company and website, leaving out any fields you keep empty.
The preview updates live as you type. You can set the size from 128 to 1024 pixels and choose both the QR color and the background color. Because scanner apps look for dark modules on a light background, the page warns you when your color pair has too little contrast or is inverted, which could make the code unreadable. Codes use error correction level M, which tolerates roughly 15 percent damage, and include the standard four-module quiet zone around the edges.
For print work, choose SVG: it is a vector file that stays sharp at any size on flyers, posters or packaging. PNG is convenient for websites, presentations and messaging apps. The codes are static, meaning the content is stored directly in the pattern. There is no redirect service in between, so the code does not expire and scans are not tracked, but the content cannot be changed after printing either.
The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Your Wi-Fi password, contact details and links are not sent to any server. The generator is free and requires no account.
Frequently asked questions
Is the QR code generator free?
Yes. You can create and download as many QR codes as you like for free, without registration.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The codes are static: the content is encoded directly in the image without a redirect service, so they keep working as long as the content itself, such as the linked page, is valid.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated locally in your browser, and the password is only stored inside the image you download.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
SVG is a vector format that stays sharp at any print size. PNG is a pixel image at the size you selected, which is practical for web pages and documents.
Can I use custom colors?
Yes. You can change the QR color and background. If the contrast is too low or the colors are inverted, a warning appears because many phones may not scan such codes.
Can I edit the content after printing?
No. Since the content is stored in the code itself, changing it requires generating and printing a new QR code.
